Solid acacia wood serving tray — rectangular or oval, with cutout handles and a food-safe oil finish. Used by cafes for coffee service, pastry shops for dessert presentation, and hospitality for room service and breakfast-in-bed setups. Acacia is chosen for its hardness (harder than oak, roughly 1,000 kg/m³ on the Janka scale) and distinctive grain — each tray has visible contrast between the darker heartwood and lighter sapwood.

Construction

Each tray is cut from a single acacia panel — no glue joints, no finger-joined sections. Cutout handles are routed into the sides, not attached separately, so there's nothing to come loose. The edges are rounded over (typically 6–8mm radius) for a comfortable grip. Bottom corners have small non-slip pads — silicone or felt, depending on the intended surface.

Standard sizes: 30×20cm, 35×25cm, 40×28cm for rectangular; 30×20cm and 35×25cm for oval. Custom dimensions available.

Finish and food safety

Food-grade mineral oil and beeswax finish. This is the same finish used on cutting boards — food-safe, won't flake or peel, and can be maintained by the end user with a reapplication of mineral oil every few months. Meets FDA and LFGB standards for direct food contact. A lacquer finish is available for trays used only for plated service (no direct food contact).

Customization

Dimensions, shape (rectangular or oval), handle style, wood species (acacia, walnut, or oak), and branding method. Laser engraving on the tray surface is the most common for logos — it burns the mark into the wood with no ink. Silk-screen on the bottom is an option for larger branding. • Is it safe for direct food contact?
  Yes. The mineral oil and beeswax finish meets FDA and LFGB food safety standards.
• Will acacia warp over time?
  Acacia is a dense, stable hardwood. With normal use and hand washing (not soaking), warp is unlikely. The single-panel construction eliminates glue-line failures that cause splitting in joined boards.
• Can I get a specific grain pattern?
  Acacia naturally varies from piece to piece — that's part of the material. We can't guarantee identical grain, but we do sort for major defects (cracks, large knots) before cutting. If you need perfectly uniform appearance, consider walnut instead — it has more consistent coloring.
• MOQ for custom logos?
  200 pieces. Laser engraving setup is a one-time fee per design. Screen printing has a screen setup fee.
• How are they packaged for shipping?
  Individually wrapped in foam or paper, packed with corrugated dividers in master cartons. Retail packaging (branded boxes) available on request.
